2025 has been an exciting year for Firmwater, marked by several new product updates and enhancements to existing features. As always, every new feature and improvement in the LMS is shaped by feedback from our clients, ensuring the platform evolves to meet their needs. Below, we’ll review everything new with Firmwater so far this year, including updates to the Shopify integration, a new Training Plan UI and our new Zapier integration.
Streamline Shopify Course Sales
As more and more training providers have realized the benefits of selling courses online, Firmwater has adapted to new eCommerce demands. Last year, we added support for subscription purchases, while this year we have focused on streamlining the Shopify checkout experience and helping our clients reduce support time.
Here are three key updates we’ve made to the Firmwater Shopify eCommerce integration:
1. New ‘Buy more seats’ button: Your customers can now buy additional seats for any course sold through your Shopify store directly from the LMS. Instead of opening a new browser tab, navigating to your Shopify store, and then searching for the right product, Group Managers can use the ‘Buy more seats’ button from their LMS home page to take them straight to the product listing and finish checkout within seconds.
2. New ‘Access purchase’ app block checkout feature: This app block lets your customers access their course immediately from the checkout summary page with one click, reducing friction and boosting customer satisfaction. This will also help increase course completion rates and reduce “Where’s my course?” support tickets.
3. Order Editing: You can now edit an order on Shopify, and the changes will automatically transfer to the LMS. For example, if a customer ordered the wrong quantity, you can simply adjust the number of seats and apply a refund or payment. This should also reduce support time and improve the customer service experience, leading to happier customers.
The LMS Gets a Makeover: New Training Plan UI
You can now configure the Firmwater LMS Training Plan to use cards with images, giving your learners a more modern and engaging learning experience. This will help signal to learners that your training is current, professional, and worth their time. Just like a modern website or app, it creates trust that the learning content itself is high quality.
Instead of a static course list, a learner sees something that feels dynamic and approachable, which can encourage them to start and stick with the course. It can also make it easier for them to identify appropriate courses, creating a smoother and more cohesive learning experience.

Expand Automation and Connectivity with Zapier Integration
The ability for an LMS to integrate with multiple platforms and applications is essential to modern online training. Zapier is an automation tool that connects different apps and services so tasks and data can move between them automatically without coding. For example, a learner’s course status or completion data from Firmwater LMS can be automatically shared with another platform.
Here are some scenarios for where and when you might want to automate data transfer between an LMS and other platforms:
Sales and Marketing: Integrate your LMS with marketing software like Hubspot or Mailchimp to trigger email marketing workflows based on course completion date. For example, if your customers require annual training renewal, you could trigger an email workflow one year from the course completion date to entice them to purchase the course again.
Employee Management: Update employee training information in a CRM, such as which courses have been completed; Create or update users, ie. A new employee gets added to the CRM, which automatically creates a user account in the LMS and assigns training based on their Job Role.
