The Client
Based in Calgary, AB, Canada, Corridor Interactive has been a leader in workplace compliance training for over 20 years. Corridor develops online learning programs for companies that need to train their staff in policy-related matters such as alcohol and drug policy, workplace harassment, code of conduct, diversity, and privacy. They have trained over 500,000 employees in Canada, the United States and abroad.
They combine strong instructional design capabilities with the expertise of renowned Subject Matter Experts to deliver unique and customized courses. Courses are designed in Articulate Rise with modern learning best practices in mind. To make large courses manageable, separate SCORM files are uploaded to Firmwater LMS and then combined to create more extensive courses, effectively dividing the content into easily digestible modules.
Corridor’s dynamic offering is reflected in the diversity of its clientele, which includes organizations in oil and gas, mining, forestry, transportation, municipal, aviation, and healthcare. These organizations range from small businesses with 1 to 10 employees to independent contractors, midsize companies, and large enterprise organizations with thousands of employees. To meet the needs of a diverse learner population, Corridor uses Firmwater’s Shopify eCommerce integration to deliver courses directly to individuals and small teams, while providing dedicated, branded client sites to large companies.
The Challenge
In the early 2020s, Corridor determined that to grow their training business, they needed to change their LMS to overcome four key challenges:
- Scaling Training Delivery Across Client Types
- Selling Online Training to Small Businesses and Individuals
- Managing Customization for Large Clients
- Automating Compliance Training
How Firmwater Helped
Challenge #1: Scaling Training Delivery Across Client Types
Corridor needed to be confident that they could continue to add courses, users and clients (both big and small) without increasing the administrative burden. In short, they needed a system that would grow with them.
The Firmwater Solution

With Firmwater’s multi-tenant LMS, training providers can create multiple branded client portals (Client Sites) for each client, all managed via a single dashboard, known as the Master Site.
It gives Corridor the ability to scale by easily adding new B2B clients and users while saving time with shared content functionality. First, when a new client needs to be added to the LMS, they can add a new Client Site in just a few clicks. Users are then seamlessly added to the Client Site via bulk import or integration.
Since Corridor’s full course library is already loaded into their LMS master site, specific courses can be quickly and easily granted to the Client Site, where they can be customized as needed. This simplifies content management and delivery because courses for new clients don’t need to be made from scratch or reloaded into the LMS.
This shared content approach not only reduces administrative work in course building, but it also makes updating content easier and faster. Updates made at the Master Site are applied automatically across client sites, significantly reducing content maintenance time.
This scalable LMS structure equips Corridor to grow revenue and its client base without adding staff or resources.
“I know that I can make an update in the master level, and it is automatically going to trickle down to my client modules, and that the change is going to reach my end user immediately. So, from a content development point of view, this was an incredible win because it has personally saved me a lot of time. It's just made my life so much easier.”

Challenge #2: Selling Online Training to Small Businesses and Individuals
Corridor did not have an efficient system in place to reach individuals and small businesses. Manual purchasing and enrolment processes had limited reach and created administrative friction, so they needed a more automated way to deliver courses off-the-shelf to smaller clients and individuals.
The Firmwater Solution
The Firmwater LMS Shopify eCommerce integration is designed so customers can browse a website or Shopify store 24/7, purchase their course(s) and get immediate access to the LMS. This has reduced the internal workload for Corridor by automating transactions and enrolments.
The Shopify integration also supports multi-seat purchases. This means that smaller B2B clients who don’t need their own custom portal can buy courses for multiple employees at once. For example, an HR manager might purchase 10 course seats for their team and then invite employees to take the course. This functionality has enabled Corridor to reach a new market segment without added overhead.
Challenge #3: Managing Customization for Large Clients
Large enterprise clients required customized branding and integration with their own LMS systems. This resulted in heavy duplication of effort and difficult content management.
The Firmwater Solution
Firmwater’s multi-tenant client sites make it easy to create and brand an LMS portal in a short time period. This includes adding logos, brand colours, custom emails, custom certificates and unique course assignment settings. Branded client sites elevate the learner experience, reinforcing each organization’s identity.
Additionally, Firmwater’s External LMS integration makes it possible for clients to launch courses from their own LMS, while the course itself is actually hosted by Firmwater, preserving version control, access and analytics for Corridor.
Multi-tenant customization and LMS integrations have ultimately increased Corridor’s ability to attract large, high-value B2B clients without multiplying workload.
Challenge #4: Automating Compliance Training
Many clients required employees to complete recurring compliance or refresher training on set schedules. Manually tracking and assigning annual refresher courses to individual learners was time-consuming and prone to user error.
The Firmwater Solution
Firmwater designed Learning Paths for Corridor that automatically assign courses at required intervals. For example, an employee in a client organization might need to recertify on workplace harassment training annually. The employee can be added to a learning path once, triggering the first course assignment. One year after completing the course, the user is automatically assigned a refresher version of the course. This can repeat indefinitely.
Learning Paths have freed Corridor’s team from repetitive tasks, allowing them to focus on higher-value activities, like new course creation and business development. They also minimize missed deadlines and offer convenient reporting, building trust with clients who know that compliance training is running smoothly and consistently.
